PIC(K)TURES IS HERE, NOW

Thank you to Tim Best for participating in the very first of our "Pic(k)tures: Filmmakers' Choice" series! Tim's work and his choice to screen La Jetee yielded excellent conversation and it was a wonderful time all around. Next up is Isabella Bur on Dec 4! There will be no official screening on the 27th due to Thanksgiving conflicts but we will resume the following week!

Pic(k)tures: Filmmakers' Choice, No. 1 - Tim Best

ART BEEF is a collective of artists based in Dallas, Texas interested in challenging notions of authorship and market structure, while questioning the forms of programming most often associated with other artist-run spaces, galleries, organizations, and institutions.
While individual artists ourselves, Art Beef is not intended to serve a platform for our own respective practices. This collaborative project is, therefore, a problematizing exploration of artists as curator without the constraints of either a commercial or not-for-profit art space, examining the status and function of art, particularly within the city of Dallas.

BEEFHAUS is Art Beef's first long-term project space located at 833 Exposition Ave in Dallas, Texas. The space hosts a wide-range of exhibitions, performances, screenings, site-specific installation, panel discussions, artist talks, and more. The space is intended as a vehicle for collaboration with other artists, art groups, and performers across a variety of disciplines. Proposals are welcome. All profits from the sale of works go entirely to the respective artist(s); Beefhaus encourages a donation to help offset the costs of maintaining the space.
