It moves within but cannot pass through.

It is like a boat that bobs atop the water.

It is like a boat whose bow and stern both are inches from the shore.

It is like a measuring stick.

Dylan Cale Jones is currently pursuing his MFA at Southern Methodist

University. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in

2011.

ART BEEF is a collective of artists based in Dallas, Texas interested in challenging notions of authorship and market structure, while questioning the forms of programming most often associated with other artist-run spaces, galleries, organizations, and institutions.
While individual artists ourselves, Art Beef is not intended to serve a platform for our own respective practices. This collaborative project is, therefore, a problematizing exploration of artists as curator without the constraints of either a commercial or not-for-profit art space, examining the status and function of art, particularly within the city of Dallas.

BEEFHAUS is Art Beef's first long-term project space located at 833 Exposition Ave in Dallas, Texas. The space hosts a wide-range of exhibitions, performances, screenings, site-specific installation, panel discussions, artist talks, and more. The space is intended as a vehicle for collaboration with other artists, art groups, and performers across a variety of disciplines. Proposals are welcome. All profits from the sale of works go entirely to the respective artist(s); Beefhaus encourages a donation to help offset the costs of maintaining the space.
